NC Peer Support Training Course Review Process

and existing standards for the required 40-hour Peer Support Training.

As of August 29, 2012, the Division is no longer accepting new training curriculum to be reviewed or approved.  Training curriculum currently approved with a re-certification date before April 2013 will have an extension to allow time to meet revised standards.

Additionally, DMHDDSAS and UNC BHRP are developing a “Train the Trainer” protocol to ensure quality, consistency, enhanced skills and knowledge, mastery of curriculum material and knowledge transfer to future NC Certified Peer Support Specialists.

We will be updating this page with details during this development process.
